How do I care for my Dough?
You can extend the shelf life of your Dough by playing with it often and following the steps listed below. Please note: When stored in high-heat, Dough can have the potential to mould. If your Dough becomes mouldy, discard immediately.
What ingredients are found in Little Larch Dough?
We are so happy you asked! We believe in full transparency when putting products into small hands and are not shy to share our ingredients.
Each jar of Dough contains the following ingredients: Wheat Flour, Salt, Cream of Tartar, Arrowroot Powder, Coconut Oil, Vegetable Glycerin, Organic Plant Based dyes (Spirulina, Turmeric, Purple Potato, Annatto, Activated Charcoal), Essential Oils (Lemon, Lavender, Sweet Orange, Grapefruit).
How long does Little Larch Dough last?
Our Dough will last 1 year (or more!) from the date it was made. Each jar contains a Best Before Date date.
Do you have a Gluten Free Dough option?
Not at this time, but we are working on it!
How old should my child be to play with Dough?
Because Dough can act as a choking hazard if swallowed, we recommend Dough for children 3+ and always with parental supervision.
Why the glass jars?
We think the world has enough plastic and we are committed to creating plastic-free products for children.
Unlike plastic (that can be recycled 2-3 times), glass can be recycled endlessly and does not leach harmful micro-plastics into the earth. To ensure your child's safety, please remove Dough from the glass jar before playtime.
Why don't you use artificial dyes or scents?
Artificial dyes and scents are derived from petroleum and have a large environmental footprint. These synthetic ingredients have also been linked to skin irritation and sensitivity.
Not only do plant-based colours and essential oils have a lower environmental footprint, but they are better for our bodies and create beautiful, natural hues and aromatic smells. We source our plant-based colours and essential oils from Canadian suppliers. All essential oils are properly diluted and safe for use in children under the age of 7.
What is Apple Leather?
Apple Leather is created using apple cores and skins that are leftover from the juicing industry. This up-cycled leather material is converted into a sustainable leather alternative that is free of animal byproducts and plastics. Our Apple Leather products are proudly made in Canada.
