Pride Month Activities for Kids

June is Pride Month, and it’s a great time for kids to celebrate diversity, inclusion and most importantly, kindness.

Here are some ideas for how you can celebrate Pride Month with kids...

1. Rainbow Crafts: Grab some rainbow-coloured paper, roll out some colourful play Dough or mix and match Potion Play to create sparkly, bubbling love potions. Creative art activities are a fun way to spark mindful conversations around kindness and acceptance.

2. Read Books about Diversity: There are tons of great books for kids that celebrate diversity and inclusivity. Take some time to read stories that highlight LGBTQ characters, families, and allies.

3. Pride-themed Baking: Get creative in the kitchen and whip up some Pride-themed treats with your kids. Rainbow cupcakes, cookies, and cakes are easy and fun to make.

4. Make a Pride Collage: Have your kids cut out pictures from magazines or print them from the internet that represent diversity and inclusivity.

These are just a few of the ways that kids can celebrate Pride Month. There are many other activities that kids can do to learn more about the LGBTQ+ community and show their support. No matter what activities your kids choose, it’s important to remind them that everyone should be treated with respect and kindness.
